We are thrilled to announce that a new AED Defibrillator has now be installed outside The College Arms for all to use.
Thank you to The College Arms for the donation of the Quiz Night takings towards the cost to make this possible.
An automated external defibrillator (AED) is a life-saving portable electronic device that diagnoses the life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias of ventricular fibrillation and pulseless ventricular tachycardia and is able to give people life-saving defibrillation, allowing the heart to reestablish an effective rhythm and significantly increases someone's chance of survival.
With simple audio and visual commands, AEDs are designed to be simple to use for the layperson, and the use of AEDs is taught in many first aid, certified first responder, and basic CPR classes.
For more information about how to use an AED, visit the St. John Ambulance's website.
Remember, an AED is also available for use by the public in the phone box on Church Hill, so both sides of the village are now covered. Even if one life is saved it’ll be worth it.
