After engagement from residents to improve the facilities at the playing field for older children, the Council has engaged with experts on how is best to develop facilities.
There was support for developing facilities to skate/bike as well as installing a zip wire. After consultation, the Council has unfortunately drawn the conclusion that neither will be viable. The cost, planning, and noise implications of such facilities make this an option the Council cannot consider. That said, the Council is committed to improving facilities for young people. We propose the following options for consideration and feedback.
- A “half MUGA” (hard surface multi-use games area) near the Football Hut that is inclusive of a goal and basketball hoop
- A footpath from the Trinty Road entrance of the playing field to the Goldings entrance
- Outdoor gym equipment along the new pathway
- Clearing the space at the back of the playing field to provide more open space
