How to use a defibrillator

After the install of our 2nd village defibrillator, we wanted to share a video on how to use them.

There are two in the village:

  • Telephone Box on Church Hill
  • Outside the College Arms

We hope to restart FREE training sessions soon.  Follow our social media pages for updates.

An automated external defibrillator (AED) is a life-saving portable electronic device that diagnoses the life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias of ventricular fibrillation and pulseless ventricular tachycardia and is able to give people life-saving defibrillation, allowing the heart to reestablish an effective rhythm and significantly increases someone's chance of survival.

With simple audio and visual commands, AEDs are designed to be simple to use for the layperson, and the use of AEDs is taught in many first aid, certified first responder, and basic CPR classes.
