Two popular Hertford Heath events have combined to provide an afternoon of fun and games on the Village Green on Saturday 4th September.
Starting at 1pm, the Fayre-ly Big Picnic is a local village event offering the opportunity for the community to come together and share an afternoon of music, food and games.
Combining the atmosphere of the annual picnic with some of the popular events from the Summer Fayre, provides a great new format. Bring your own food or enjoy a delicious bite from one of the food stalls perhaps followed by a locally made ice cream.
Quench your thirst at the outside bar or visit the Pimm’s stand if you like fruit with your tipple! If you fancy a cuppa, tea, coffee, and mouth-watering cakes will be available too.
Whatever you choose, you’ll be entertained by two local bands who’ll be providing live music throughout the afternoon.
And no event of this kind is complete without the opportunity to test your skill at Hertford Heath’s very own version of the Olympics. No medals on offer but you might need to get in training for such competitive events as “Throwing the horseshoe”, “Roll a ball” or “The paper aeroplane challenge”.
Towards the end of the afternoon, an organised tug of war competition will provide the bragging rights for those who want to flex their muscles.
Once you’ve headed home clutching winning scratch cards and the odd coconut, you can return to the village green for the 8pm showing of ‘The Greatest Showman’. This FREE community event is provided by The Goat but is TICKET ONLY.
