The village has its own primary and nursery school and is well served by excellent local secondary schools in the area.

Hertford Heath Pre-School is open five afternoons a week during term time only. Please see the Session times that are at the side of the page.
The Pre-school offers 30 hours wrap around care to the children in partnership with Hertford Heath Nursery and other settings and childminders.
Children in nursery stay on in the Nursery classroom when their morning session finishes at 11.50am. They can either have just lunch or lunch and afternoon play until 3.15pm

Hertford Heath Primary School & Nursery is a one-form entry school. The School admits 26 children to its Nursery class and 30 children to Reception and above.
It is situated in the village and therefore has all the benefits of a village school; a nurturing atmosphere where all members of staff know all the children and their families.
The School has close links to the village, the church, the Parish Council, Haileybury College and the local Hertford Heath community but it is also classed as a Hertford & Ware school. Therefore, it has access to all the same partnerships and opportunities as the schools in the nearby towns; Hartham swimming pool, Wodson Park, Castle Hall theatre and links with fellow professionals at the Primary and Secondary schools.
Children are well prepared for transition at secondary school age; most pupils transferring to Presdales, Richard Hale, Simon Balle and Haileybury.
The School was recognised as a ‘Good school’ in the last four OFSTED inspections, the most recent being in September 2017. It has a stable, caring group of class teachers and a professional and a supportive Governing Body. The Head Teacher is Rebecca Baggaley.
